Mechanicus Themed Imperial Knight Showcase [Sold]

My latest creation is complete! I’m showcasing him with some swanky photos taken in my new mini photo studio which makes a huge difference to the crispness of the images. I can finally show off the paint job to the full.

This knight was painted in a similar manner to my previous. I used Vallejo chipping fluid to achieve the majority of the damage and scratch marks. This time I really focused on the realism, considering how the damage would have occured with angles of shots and impacts and I think it worked better than my first effort.

I am also particularly pleased with how the ruined urban base turned out. I spent a great deal of care placing each item and making sure it felt ‘part of the scene’ rather than just plonked without too much thought. Paying attention to the details really makes the difference.

As with the last chap, this guy is for sale. (Now sold)

It is getting seriously addictive painting Knights. They are just the perfect weathering canvas for practicing techniques on. Lovely large surfaces and crisp edges to attack. I think I may have to try a dark green one next.

For now, please enjoy these photos. Countless hours have gone into this creation!

Adeptus Mechanicus Imperial Knight Progress

So I have been pretty busy since my last Imperial Knight with....another one! Yes I enjoyed the previous one so much I dived straight into another one. I was keen to try more weathering techniques with powders, chipping fluids, air brush effects etc. There are some photos of my progress below. Just crappy phone photos for now. I'll do a proper gallery set when he is done
I was also trying to make the scratches and worn away paint look as realistic as possibly with the chipping fluid effect. I really worked the underneath layer with lots of variation, using a lot of different metallics to create the effect I have really enjoyed the colours on this one. The combination of red, white and black is just so strong. It's such a bold look. I have focused quite a bit on the metals on the skeleton underneath too. Trying to get that worn, burnished look. It's tricky and there are so many ways it can be done.

Completed Imperial Knight Showcase [SOLD]

Imperial Knight Gallery

He is finally done! Painting this model has been a labour of love. This is my largest air brush project yet and it was also host to a number of new techniques I wanted to try.

I was keen to avoid it having the air brushed 'look' which I see many models turn out like when they have been 'too' air brushed with incredibly clean, stark gradients. I think they lack a bit of soul and character. I think I have been successful, using a myriad of different techniques to strike a balance between realism and the larger than life character of Warhammer 40k.
Large Space Marine Army for Sale

Formation Based Army

Hello again, so my Dark Eldar sold very quickly so lets see how this one does! I have lovely looking space marine army with a lot of conversions and custom parts. I have used Puppetswar parts throughout the force and there is a fair bit of Forgeworld involved too. Most of the force also fits in to the 7th Edition Gladius detachment formations as well.
Dark Eldar vs Space Marines Part 2

Crimson Minotaurs Chapter Master Poised to Fall

Welcome back to this fake battle I assembled last weekend. If you missed part one do go and take a look!

Last time we left the scene with the Dark Eldar forces scattering at the blunt but powerful arrival of the Crimson Minotuars planet side. The Adeptus Astartes Storm Wing sent many of the delicate Eldar skimmers to a fiery end, securing the ground for Chapter Master Alcaeus himself to disembark.
